Active industry involvement since the year 2000 and experience in management and technical leadership in major Tunnelling and Infrastructure projects worldwide, including 2 years as Risk Management Consultant in Construction Insurance. Proven ability to provide tailored risk management consulting services and deliver innovative technical solutions to challenging engineering problems.

Spyridon earned his BSc and MSc in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, a MSc in Design and Construction of Underground Works from the same university and a MSc in Computational Mechanics from Stuttgart University, Germany. He is currently the Technical Engineering Manager for the Qatar Rail, Doha Metro, Gold Line and Green Line Extension projects and a partner and co-founder of Ruler Consult, a London-based risk engineering management consultancy. He has previously worked for Marsh and Arup in the UK; for COWI in Denmark, Qatar and UAE and for Greek firms of consulting engineers, contractors and universities. He is a Chartered Engineer with the Technical Chamber of Greece and with the Institution of Civil Engineers UK (CEng MICE). He is also a Professional of the Association of Project Management (APM), a member of the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (EurIng) and a reviewer in the Geotechnical and Geological Engineering Journal. He has full professional proficiency in English, Greek and German and intermediate professional proficiency in Spanish.

He has earned his diploma in Civil Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a Masters in Tunnelling and Project Coordination, and a Specialisation course on Construction Management from Columbia University of New York. He has also earned a doctorate in Reliability Engineering and Structural Concrete from the BOKU University of Vienna under the supervision of Prof. Konrad Bergmeister Prof Jan Hofmann, and Prof. Dan M. Frangopol, and in collaboration with pioneering industry partners. He has also received special training on Construction law and dispute resolutions, Temporary works management, and Construction insurance. Besides his involvement with risk engineering projects as a member of RULER, he has worked in variety of structural design and construction projects, including industrial facilities, earthquake resistant structures and seismic retrofitting. As an associate of key worldwide active consulting outfits, he has acquired top experience in the field of tunnelling where he acted as a lead structural and geotechnical engineering in a variety of high-profile design, design-build, and consulting projects. Panos regularly lectures as a guest to universities and professional organisations and he has authored more than 70 international technical publications. He is a member to technical committees including the ITA workgroup on Life-Cycle of Tunnels, the fib work group on structural concrete in tunnels, two ACI Scientific Committees, and he is also a member of the DIN standards committee on concrete fastenings. He is a Chartered Engineer with the Technical Chamber of Greece and with the Institution of Civil Engineers UK (CEng MICE). He has full professional proficiency in English, German and Greek, and a good knowledge of Italian. Since 2018, he holds the Chair of fastening and assembly technologies at the Technical University of Dortmund.
